Create a new record with these fields. Copy the entire Value, including illegal-discover-verification=, without adding quotation marks. TTL controls how long DNS answers are cached.
Where do I add this? +
Open your domain provider’s DNS settings and add a TXT record. For Shopify-managed domains, go to Settings → Domains → your domain → DNS settings.
For GoDaddy, open your domain → DNS → Add New Record, then enter the fields above and save. Keep all existing records.
Usually this matches your store domain. If your store is shop.example.com but you’re editing DNS for example.com, enter example.com here. We’ll change Name / Host to shop automatically.
After saving, return here and click Check verification. DNS changes can take time; if the record isn’t found, wait and try again.
